Smithtown Police Blotter: 2 Homes Burglarized

Cash and jewelry were stolen during one of the burglaries, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between March 13 and March 19.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • March 19: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Sandy Drive in Smithtown at 1:30 a.m. A person went into an unlocked 2019 Chevrolet Suburban parked outside of a home and stole a credit card, police said.
  • March 19: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Windwood Drive in Nesconset at 4 p.m. Someone entered a home through a broken back window and stole cash and jewelry, police said.
  • March 18: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Middle Country Road in Nesconset at 4 a.m. A man smashed a home's window and broke a toilet and caused flooding, police said. The homeowner knows the burglar, police said.
  • March 16: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Steven Place in Smithtown at 11 p.m. A person went into two unlocked vehicles parked outside of a home and stole a wallet, foreign and domestic cash, credit cards, and identification documents, police said.
  • March 14: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Nesconset Boulevard in Nesconset from March 8 at noon. Someone swiped multiple sets of tires and rims from a Tesla dealership, police said.
