Smithtown Police Blotter: Businesses Stolen From At Construction Site

Approximately $20,000 worth of items were stolen from at least four businesses at the site, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Oct. 20: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on West Main Street in Smithtown at 8:30 a.m. Someone took assorted power tools and a golf cart, valued at a total of $4,700, from Zucaro Construction, police said. Multiple complainants reported thefts at the construction site, police said.
  • Oct. 20: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on West Main Street in Smithtown at 8:30 a.m. Someone stole assorted tools, worth $3,780, from Patriot Construction Services, police said. Multiple complainants reported thefts at the construction site, police said.
  • Oct. 20: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on West Main Street in Smithtown at 8:30 a.m. Someone stole $3,250 worth of assorted power tools from J&A Construction, police said. Multiple complainants reported thefts at the construction site, police said.
  • Oct. 20: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on West Main Street in Smithtown at 8:30 a.m. Roughly $8,000 worth of power tools were stolen from Schindler Elevator, police said. Multiple complainants reported thefts at the construction site, police said.
  • Oct. 19: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Nesconset Highway in Nesconset at 12:05 a.m. Someone went into a U-Haul through a side door, opened a lock box and tried to open a safe behind the counter, police said.
