Smithtown Police Blotter: Car Stolen From Driveway

ALSO: A catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked at a Stop & Shop, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between Jan. 8 and Jan. 15.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Jan. 13: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Copperbeech Road in St. James at 6:07 a.m. A 2017 Lexus was stolen from a woman's driveway, police said. The car was unlocked, and the keys might have been left inside, police said.
  • Jan. 13: Criminal mischief (third-degree) was reported on West Main Street in Smithtown at 4 a.m. A catalytic converter was stolen off a 2017 Chevrolet parked at Stop & Shop, police said.
  • Jan. 9: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at 4:30 p.m. Someone stole perfume from Victoria's Secret, police said.
  • Jan. 8: Robbery (second-degree) was reported at Smith Maven Mall in Lake Grove at 1 p.m. Clothing and a handbag were stolen from Macy's, police said.
