Smithtown Police Blotter: Identity Thefts & Burglaries Reported

One of the identity thefts happened in October 2018, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Feb. 21: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on East Main Street in Village of the Branch at 1:56 a.m.
  • Feb. 21: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on East Hill Drive in St. James from Oct. 9, 2018 at 11 a.m.
  • Feb. 20: Grand larceny was reported on Nesconset Highway in Nesconset from Nov. 13, 2019 at noon.
  • Feb. 19: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Dorchester Road in Smithtown from Feb. 12 at noon.
  • Feb. 19: Harassment was reported on Hemlock Lane in Village of the Branch at 2 p.m.
  • Feb. 18: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Ruth Street in Smithtown at 8:37 a.m.
  • Feb. 17: Criminal mischief was reported on North Country Road in St. James from Feb. 12 at 6:40 p.m.
