Smithtown Police Blotter: Stolen Credit Card Charged For $6K
After a woman lost her credit card, the founder used it at an Apple Store, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Aug. 21: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Lindron Avenue in Smithtown from May 26 at 9 a.m. Someone sent money to an acquaintance through the Zelle app, and the person then sent them six checks that all bounced, police said. The money has yet to be returned, police said.
- Aug. 20: Criminal mischief (fourth-degree) was reported on Route 25A in Smithtown at 3 a.m. A woman's 2015 Nissan Ultima driver-side front window was smashed while it was parked at Brookside Multicare, police said.
- Aug. 14: Criminal mischief (fourth-degree) was reported on Amsterdam Road in Smithtown from Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. A mailbox was damaged, police said.
- Aug. 14: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Snowdance Lane in Nesconset at 2:30 p.m. A woman's credit card was charged for more than $6,000 at an Apple Store in Smith Haven Mall after she lost the card, police said.
