Smithtown Police Blotter: Tires And Rims Stolen At Car Dealership

ALSO: The front seats of a car were stolen from a separate dealership, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between Dec. 24 and Jan. 1.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Dec. 29: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Middle Country Road in St. James from Dec. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Someone smashed the back window of a 2022 Lincoln and stole the car's front seats at Lincoln of Smithtown, police said.
  • Dec. 29: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Old Country Road in St. James at 10 p.m. Someone pried open the door of a business in a shopping center at 430 North Country Road and stole cash from the register, police said. Police did not know which business was broken into.
  • Dec. 24: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown at 7 p.m. Twenty-five tires and rims from nine different vehicles were stolen from King O'Rourke Buick GMC, police said.
