Smithtown Police Blotter: Window Broken Over Payment Dispute
ALSO: An identity theft was reported in which someone opened a PayPal with someone else's information and made several charges, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Oct. 23: Criminal mischief (fourth-degree) was reported on Grandview Lane in Smithtown at 4:10 p.m. Someone had some work done on their property by a tree company, and there was a dispute over payment, police said. An employee of the company broke a window on the home, police said.
- Oct. 21: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Brooksite Drive from Oct. 13 at 5:50 p.m. Someone used someone else's personal information to open a credit card under Bank of America and then made several purchases, police said.
- Oct. 21: Aggravated harassment (second-degree) was reported on Lawrence Avenue in Smithtown at 3:53 p.m. Someone received several text messages of a sexual nature from an unknown phone number, police said.
- Oct. 18: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Cinderella Lane in St. James from April 30 at 12:01 a.m. Someone used the personal information of someone they knew to open a PayPal account and make several charges to their bank account, police said.
