Smithtown Resident Finishes In 15th Place At NYC Marathon

Congratulations to Brendan Martin!

SMITHTOWN, NY - Out of the more than 50,000 runners, one Smithtown resident finished in the top 20 in the New York City Marathon on Sunday.

Brendan Martin, 28, finished in 15th place with a time of 2:22:36, according to the unofficial results.

Martin participated in 5 other races this year alone. In June he ran in the NYRR Queens 10K, in May he ran in the AirBnB Brooklyn Half-Marathon, in April he ran in the Run as One 4-mile race, and in March he participated in both the United Airlines NYC Half-Marathon and the NYRR Washington Heights 5K.

He was beat out by Birhanu Dare Kemal, who came in 14th place with a time of 2:21:30.
