SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown residents are set to head to the polls on Tuesday, May 16.
The vote is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters can find their polling place here.
The Smithtown School District's proposed spending plan for the 2023-24 school year is $280,642,272. That's a 4.8 percent increase from the current budget. The tax levy is $213,302,727, or a 2.83 percent increase from last year's.

Three seats are available on the Smithtown Board of Trustees. Each term is three years, starting July 1 and running through June 30, 2026.

- Incumbent Matthew Gribbin vs. Elena Guttieri.
- Vlad Pean vs. Kevin Craine for a seat currently held by outgoing incumbent Jerry Martusciello.
- Incumbent John Savoretti vs. Nicholas DeBello.
