Smithtown Senior Named Winner At Science And Engineering Fair

Smithtown High School West senior Sarah Adamo has been named a grand-prize winner at the New York State Science and Engineering Fair.

From Smithtown Central School District: Smithtown High School West senior Sarah Adamo has been named a grand-prize winner at the New York State Science and Engineering Fair, where she received the best in fair award.

Her project, “Acetylcholine and nicotine potentiate currents in cells isolated from the sea anemone, Nematostella vectensis,” was completed at Stony Brook University under the guidance of Dr. James Dilger. Adamo will be competing at the International Science and Engineering Fair in May.
