Smithtown Students Rally For Mental Health, Support Local Counseling Center
P.S. I Love You Day fundraiser supports Horizons Counseling Center and encourages student compassion.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Students in the Leadership program at Smithtown High School East recently raised $300 for Horizons Counseling Center in the Town of Smithtown as part of their observance of P.S. I Love You Day, a national day dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Through a student-led fundraising effort and schoolwide participation, the initiative emphasized the importance of kindness, mutual support, and checking in on one another, while also giving back to a local organization that provides mental health services to the community.
District officials said the project not only encouraged generosity but also opened conversations among students about emotional well-being and the value of compassion in everyday interactions. The Leadership program organized the effort to align with the broader message of P.S. I Love You Day, which encourages people to spread positivity and remind others that they are valued and not alone.
