Sophia's Dream Team

EPIC Long Island Walk for Epilepsy Fundraiser

At 4 1/2 years old my little sister Sophia was diagnosed with epilepsy. Sophia has spent years trying different medications, going through different tests, medical diets and EEG’s. Unfortunately, this year Sophia has developed another form of epilepsy called status epilepticus. It’s a more life threatening condition. This form of epilepsy is when epileptic seizures occur one after the other without recovery of conciousness between them. She has been in the ER twice this year due to status epilepticus. Despite her new condition, Sophia has still managed to keep a big beautiful smile on her face through it all. I have become more inspired by the bravery of my sister and want to make a bigger difference. This year I will be working harder to raise awareness and donations in honor of Sophia and the 65 million people worldwide who are impacted by epilepsy every single day.
