St. James Crash Sends Motorcyclist To Hospital With Serious Injuries: Police

A Smithtown man was hospitalized after his motorcycle collided with an SUV, police say.

ST. JAMES, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Monday night in St. James, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

Police said Daniel Youngelman, 29, of Smithtown, was operating a 2016 KTM motorcycle eastbound on Middle Country Road when it collided with a 2014 Honda Pilot that was making a left turn from the westbound lanes onto Southern Boulevard at about 7:05 p.m.

Youngelman was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Honda, Annette Rousselle, 66, of Centereach, was also taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
