Stolen Credit Card Used In Lake Grove; $1K In Charges Made: Police

A man and woman used a woman's lost credit card at several shops, charging more than $1,000, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding the two people who, police said, used a stolen credit card at a Lake Grove store in December.

A woman reported to police that she left her credit card at a store in Smith Haven Mall on Dec. 28, police said. Shortly after, a man and woman used the credit card at multiple businesses within the mall and charged more than $1,000 in purchases, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
