Three Hospitalized After Mother's Day House Fire
All residents were able to escape from the home Sunday evening.
VILLAGE OF THE BRANCH, NY - Three people were hospitalized after a house fire that broke out on Mother's Day in Village of the Branch, according to the Smithtown Fire Department.
The department received several reports from neighbors of flames coming out of the front of the ranch home on Branch Drive at about 5:56 p.m.
The residents in the home were able to escape from the home when the fire started.

Firefighters then began attacking the fire after searching the home and finding that there were no more residents inside.
The Kings Park, Nesconset, Hauppauge and Nissequogue fire departments as well as the Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance all responded.

The blaze was brought under control by 6:37 p.m. The fire caused severe damage to the interior of the ranch.
Three of the residents of were transported to both St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown and Stony Brook University Hospital. There are no current reports on the extent of injuries.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time and is being investigated by the Smithtown fire marshal.
