SMITHTOWN, NY - The Town of Smithtown is considering purchasing a local topless bar, according to a report in Newsday.
Officials have been working to obtain The Oasis Gentlemen's Club, located on W. Jericho Turnpike right across from the Whisper the Bull statue, since the 90's, Newsday reports.
If the town purchases the property, which overlooks the Nissequogue River, officials are considering using it for kayak and canoe launching.

However, the owner's lawyer tells Newsday he "wont' be pushed to make a deal."
