Trio Used Stolen Credit Card In Lake Grove: Police

Three people charged $4,000 to a card after a woman's wallet was stolen from her pocketbook while she was shopping, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the three people who police said used a stolen credit card in Lake Grove in May.

A woman reported her wallet containing credit and debit cards was stolen out of her pocketbook while shopping at Trader Joe’s, at 2085 Smith Haven Plaza, at 11 a.m. on May 7, police said. Later that day, one of the credit cards was charged $4,000 by two women and a man at Apple, located inside the Smith Haven Mall, police said. The trio is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
