Two Charged With Selling E-Liquid Nicotine To Minors: Police

The 16-year-old and 29-year-old were both arrested during an investigation on Memorial Day, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY - Two people were charged with selling e-liquid nicotine to minors at businesses in the Town of Smithtown during a Memorial Day investigation, according to Suffolk Police.

In response to community complaints, officers conducted an investigation on into the sale of e-liquid nicotine to minors at 12 businesses.

According to police, the following people were arrested and charged with two counts second degree unlawfully dealing with a child:

  • Anilkumar Prajapati, 29, employed at the Evolve Smoke Shop on 59 East Main Street in Smithtown.
  • A 16-year-old male employed at the Nesconset Smoke Shop on 204 Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.

The owners of the above businesses were issued a notice of violation by the Suffolk County Department of Health.

  • Krypton, 260 Smithtown Boulevard in Smithtown
  • Mobil Gas, 271 Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma
  • Shell Gas, 1331 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge
  • BP Gas, 1395 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge
  • Mobil Gas, 1670 Veterans Highway in Islandia
