The threatening social media post led to an investigation at the mall by Suffolk police on Wednesday afternoon.
LAKE GROVE, NY — A social media post threatening violence to a specific person at Smith Haven Mall prompted an investigation by Suffolk police on Wednesday afternoon. Police arrived to the mall at 4:55 p.m. after 911 was called.
The threat was decidedly "unfounded" by the multiple officers who went to the mall, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
