Firefighters from the Commack Fire Department used heavy rescue extrication tools to free a woman trapped in a crushed SUV that collided with a cesspool truck on Veterans Memorial Highway and Harned Road in Commack on Friday at around 4:15 p.m., officials said.
It was a difficult rescue operation as firefighters removed the roof and several doors of the SUV using “Jaws of Life” rescue tools, and had the victim extricated within 40 minutes, officials said.
