"Hudson Square is a living testament to the resilience and reinvention of Manhattanites, proof that Lower Manhattan can transform itself into one of the most dynamic offices, residential, and commercial districts in our entire borough,"Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal said.

"Today, we're celebrating that same spirit of renewal with the unveiling of the new Hudson Square Plaza, made possible through the state's NY Forward program."

The plaza was designed by the Hudson Square Business Improvement District (HSBID) in partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT).

The project is part of New York State's NY Forward program, which builds on the Downtown Revitalization Initiative by extending downtown investment to additional communities across the state.

The Hudson Square award is intended to support local businesses, expand residential opportunities and strengthen connections between the district and surrounding neighborhoods.
