Check out Burdick's new location to get all your chocolate treats for the holidays.

SOHO — L.A. Burdick Handmade Chocolates moved from Flatiron to SoHo this month, and their store on Prince Street is now open just in time for the holidays.

The new store at 156 Prince St. is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The café will stay open until 3 p.m. and the chocolate shop until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, so shoppers can squeeze in their last minute chocolate gifts before Christmas.

Burdick's is known for their European-inspired chocolates, especially their signature chocolate mice. Each chocolate is hand-cut or shaped, hand-garnished, hand-finished and hand-packed. The Burdick chocolate mouse is handcrafted through twelve steps over two days.

Larry Burdick founded the company in 1987. Burdick traveled to Paris and Switzerland in the late 1970s, and fell in love with Swiss chocolate during a visit to Bern in the mid 1980s. Burdick returned to NYC in 1987 with a chocolate pot, guitars for cutting shapes, dipping forks and a plan to create the best chocolate delights.
