Parking Plan
In partnership with the Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, New York State, and MTA Long Island Rail Road, the United States Golf Association (USGA) has developed a comprehensive parking and transportation plan for the 126th U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
The transportation program utilizes expanded rail service, satellite parking facilities, shuttle operations, and traffic-management measures "designed to provide fans with a convenient and efficient travel experience while minimizing additional traffic impacts on local residents, businesses, and area commuters," organizers said.
The plan is the result of an 18-month collaboration among the USGA, transportation agencies, and local law enforcement partners.
Parking and Transportation
The LIRR remains the most convenient way to travel to the championship, officials agreed. In partnership with the Long Island Rail Road, expanded eastbound and westbound service will be available along the Montauk branch with trains serving the temporary Shinnecock Hills Station adjacent to the championship grounds. Fans will access the golf course via a pedestrian bridge constructed over County Road 39. Schedules and fare information are now available through the TrainTime App or here.
BLUE Lot at Calverton Airfield
Fans traveling from points west of Southampton are encouraged to utilize complimentary parking at the BLUE Lot at Calverton Airfield. Parking at Calverton Airfield opens at 5:30 a.m. with continuous shuttle service operating between the parking lot and Gate 1 at Shinnecock Hills beginning daily at 5:30 a.m. and continuing for one hour following the conclusion of play. U.S. Open Express Shuttles from the BLUE Lot will utilize an expedited bus lane on NY-27 (Sunrise Highway) and County Road 39 during peak morning arrival periods, reducing travel times and bypassing anticipated congestion near the Shinnecock Canal and championship grounds.
There is no public parking for fans available in the immediate vicinity of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. All local parking areas surrounding the championship grounds are by permit only. Illegal parking, unauthorized passenger drop-offs, and parking violations will be strictly enforced and result in ticketing, fines and towing.
Eastern Parking Options: Hampton Classic Horse Show & Shinnecock Nation Reservation
Fans traveling from points east of Southampton may utilize complimentary parking at the Hampton Classic Horse Show grounds in Bridgehampton. Complimentary shuttle service will transport spectators directly to and from a drop-off location adjacent to hole 12 and Gate 8. Premier parking passes are also available for purchase on usopen.com for parking on the Shinnecock Nation
Reservation
Parking passes must be purchased in advance and are subject to availability.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking spaces will be available at all designated parking facilities for vehicles displaying the appropriate HD/DP license plates or placards. Fans requiring lift-equipped transportation should contact the USGA Championship Office at 2026usopen@usga.org prior to championship week for assistance and transportation instructions.
BLADE – Helicopter Air Mobility
For fans seeking a "premium, traffic-free travel experience," the USGA has partnered with BLADE to provide helicopter service between Manhattan and Shinnecock Hills during the four championship rounds, Thursday, June 18 through Sunday, June 21, with return flights to New York City each evening, organizers said. Additional information is available here.

Hampton Jitney
Hampton Jitney service is available for fans traveling from points east including Montauk, Amagansett, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, Water Mill, and East Hampton. Shuttle pick up and dropoff will be located in close proximity to Admission Gate 2 at the Stony Brook Southampton campus.
Ride Share & Passenger Drop-Off
The official ride share and passenger drop-off for the championship is located at the Stony Brook Southampton campus and is only accessible via Montauk Highway. No parking or vehicle staging is permitted at this location; therefore, passengers and drivers should coordinate pickup times accordingly. Only vehicles carrying 15 passengers or fewer will be permitted to use this location. Ride Share services are not permitted to pick up or drop-off at any other location surrounding the championship grounds.
Fans traveling from points west of the Shinnecock Canal are strongly encouraged to utilize ride share service to a local LIRR station to access rail service or be dropped at the BLUE Lot at Calverton Airfield for U.S. Open Express Shuttles.
Bicycle parking will be available at designated general parking facilities and at the Ride Share location at Stony Brook Southampton. Bike racks will be provided; however, bicycle owners are responsible for securing and safeguarding their own bicycle.
