SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — It's officially silly season: Linda Kabot, running against incumbent Bridget Fleming for the Suffolk County Legislator's seat, said someone swiped 150 of her lawn signs.

"Thou shalt not steal," Kabot, a former Southampton Town Supervisor now looking to unseat Fleming, said in a Facebook post. She added that the signs were on private property and front lawns.

"Poof, now they're gone. Ah, the political games that the opposite political party plays during the final stretch of the campaign," she said. "Less than seven days till Election Day, Nov. 5."

The Suffolk County Democratic Committee did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Fleming said she could not comment as she had no knowledge "of whatever she's claiming."
