2 Men Arrested After Trying To Unlawfully Evict Southampton Tenant: PD

SOUthAMPTON, NY — Two men were arrested when they tried to unlawfully evict a tenant in Southampton, police said.

Shanaz Fillmore, 56, and Owen Fillmore, 20, both of Blauvelt, NY, were arrested Thursday at 9:53 a.m. after entering the residence of a tenant without permission to do so, and refusing to leave when asked, Southampton Town police said.

The intrusion was made in an attempt to force that tenant to leave the residence, police said.

Both were arrested and charged with second-degree trespass and unlawful eviction, misdemeanors, police said.

Shanaz and Owen Fillmore were transported to Southampton Town headquarters for processing and released on a desk appearance ticket to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.
