2 Nabbed For Trying To Fill Fraudulent Narcotics Prescription: PD
The narcotic has a street value of $11,000, police say.
HAMPON BAYS, NY — A pair was arrested and charged after trying to fill a high-priced narcotics prescription and then leading police on a pursuit from Southampton to Hampton Bays, officials said.
According to Southampton Village Police, on Thursday, December 16 at 11:58 a.m., Malik Fludd, 28, of Jamaica was arrested in Hampton Bays and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony; first-degree falsifying business records, a felony; reckless driving; second-degree reckless endangerment; resisting arrest; and third-degree unlawful fleeing, all misdemeanors.
Also arrested was Naomi Sweeting, 22, of Brooklyn, who was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony; first-degree falsifying business records, a felony; three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; fraud; and deceit related to controlled substances, all misdemeanors, police said.

Police said Sweeting entered a pharmacy on Jagger Lane to fill a fraudulent prescription for a narcotic drug while Fludd sat in a 2020 Honda Accord outside. When Sweeting exited the store, she was confronted by detectives; Fludd jumped the curb with the vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed, police said.
The narcotic has a street value of $11,000, police said.

Southampton Village Police, along with the assistance of Southampton Town Police and the New York State Police with their K-9 unit, were able to take both into custody near the Southampton Town Animal Shelter in Hampton Bays, police said.
A computer check revealed that both Fludd and Sweeting have a "substantial history of crimes" of the same type, police said.
Fludd was remanded without bail to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside, because of two prior felony convictions; he is also on parole in New York and New Jersey, police said. Sweeting was released on pre-supervised release; the Suffolk County Probation Department installed an ankle monitoring device on her, police said.
Southampton Village detectives have been working with the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement to combat the statewide crime spree involving fraudulent prescriptions, police said.
