2-Vehicle Crash In Southampton Leads To DWI Charge: Police

The Ohio man was arrested after the Southampton crash Monday, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An Ohio man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a two-vehicle crash in Southampton Monday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 7:30 p.m. in the area of Magee Street and Pioneer Lane.

Patrol units responded to the scene and determined that one of the involved drivers, while operating a vehicle in an intoxicated condition, collided with the other vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Kenneth J. Gunderman, 52, of Westerville, Ohio, was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and to be held for morning arraignment, police said.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI, as well as an additional traffic infraction, police said.
