2 Women Charged After Early-Morning Flanders Drug Bust: Police

A search warrant was executed in response to community complaints regarding frequent drug activity at the home, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — Two women were arrested and charged after authorities executed a search warrant at a Flanders home where they both lived, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on November 17 at 6:01 a.m. at a residence on Cypress Avenue. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End Drug

Task Force and the Southampton Town Police Department's emergency services unit executed the search warrant in response to community complaints regarding frequent drug activity at the home, police said.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and digital scales, police said.

Melissa Ann Kust, 42, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia; and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Monica Morvillo, 23, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, police said.
