$2K Fast Cash Reward For Info On Hamptons Christmas Homicide: PD

A man was found dead of a gunshot wound in his North Sea home on Christmas morning, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Suffolk County Police are offering a $2,000 fast-cash award for information leading to an arrest in the case of a man found dead of a gunshot wound in his Southampton home on Christmas morning, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police homicide squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person or people who fatally shot Steven Byrnes, 53, during a burglary at 90 Roses Grove Road in North Sea on Dec. 25 at 8:45 a.m., police said.

Southampton Town Police Department officers responded to the call regarding the burglary; upon arrival, officers discovered Byrnes dead, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a fast-cash reward for information that leads to an arrest; the reward will be issued within 72 hours, police said.
