3-Car, Head-On Crash In Southampton Slows Down Traffic: FD
Injuries were not reported as serious, but the westbound lane of County Road 39 was shut down Friday afternoon, bringing traffic to a crawl.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A three-car, head-on crash in Southampton Friday afternoon brought traffic to a crawl, officials said.
The crash took place at 2:50 p.m. on County Road 39 near Shrubland Road, Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, said. The crash led to a small fuel leak on the roadway, he said.
Injuries were reported, but none were serious, Brenner said.

Southampton Town Police said they received a number of 911 calls about the driver of a 2017 Honda who was heading east on Route 27, striking highway signs and guard rails. The New York State Police and Southampton Town police patrol units were responding when the driver merged onto County Road 39, continuing to strike signs and driving on the curbed areas, police said.

Patrol units arrived and rendered aid to the injured, police said, The driver that caused the
crash, Tatiana Martin, 48, of East Hampton, was transported by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance to an area hospital, police said.
The first involved vehicle was a 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by a man, 61, of Westhampton; he was unharmed, police said. The second vehicle was 2010 Ford Econoline van driven by a 32-year-old Middle Island man; he was also uninjured, police said.
Martin was issued a ticket for third-degree aggravated unlicensed, police said.
County Road 39 was closed at 3:05 p.m. in both directions, and, as of Friday evening, one lane in both directions remained closed for the continuing investigation, police said.
