3 Hurt In 'Serious' 4-Vehicle Crash On County Road 39: Police
The crash took place on Monday morning, police say.
TUCKAHOE, NY —Four people were injured in a serious three-vehicle crash in Southampton Monday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, at 10:30 a.m., a call came in about the crash on County Road 39 in Tuckahoe.
The driver of a 2019 Ford van, a 34-year-old man from Shirley, and his passenger, a 35-year-old man from Flanders, were heading east on County Road 39 when the driver of a 2007 Subaru, a woman, 58 of Delmar, NY and her male passenger, 60, entered the roadway from a driveway, trying to go west, police said.

The Ford van struck the Subaru, causing the van to spin and continue east, crashing into the Subaru a second time and then, leaving the roadway and hitting a parked 2009 Honda, police said.
Three of the people involved were transported to a local hospital and the fourth, the passenger in the Subaru, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Southampton Police, the Southampton Fire Department, and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, as well as Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance and Southampton Village Ambulance, responded; an investigation is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call detectives at 631-702-2230.
