43rd Hampton Classic Horse Show's Galloping Good Start: Photos

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — From the Leadline Competition of young riders in the morning, judged with care by Olympic Gold medal winner and Show Jumping Hall of Famer Joe Fargis, to face painting in the kids' tent, there was fun for everyone on Sunday, the opening day of the 43rd Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton.
One of the most highly anticipated equestrian events in the nation, the event showcases the highest levels of the sport, hosting hundreds of top riders and horses from across North America and the international canvas.
Opening day at the Classic is always reserved for Long Island’s equestrian community. The Anne Aspinall main hunter ring was the place to be for the $10,000 Marders Local Hunter Derby, a two-round class consisting of “Classic Style” and “Handy Hunter” components; of 39 horses to start, Stephanie Bulger’s Hemingway emerged victorious, piloted by Sandra Ferrell, according to the Hampton Classic's website.
