8th Annual SouthamptonFest Coming Soon

The festival takes place on Oct. 12 to 14. Who else can't wait?

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The 8th Annual SouthamptonFest is set to debut in Southampton Village on October 12 to 14 with a weekend of activities spotlighting art, music, dance, food, entertainment and fun.

The weekend kicks off with the Southampton Rotary Club Cocktail Party on Friday, Oct. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Agawam Park. Wine and craft beer plus fare from local food trucks will be available, with music by the Mean Machine Band, DJ Tony Kerr and Beau Hulse’s Sinatra Review.

Proceeds from the event support the Rotary Club’s scholarship and endowment fund.

The weekend includes concerts in Agawam Park with Little Head Thinks, Next Level Band and Roses Grove Band on Saturday and Sturdy Souls, Southbound Band and the Nancy Atlas Project on Sunday.

Activities in the park include an annual chowder contest starting at noon on Saturday, food vendors providing seasonal fare, a farmers' market, fire and EMS safety demonstrations, caricatures, face painting, a Rogers Memorial Library “Pop-Up”, and corn hole tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday hosted by Southampton Village Emergency Service Departments.

Fun continues throughout the village with sidewalk sales, juggling, stilt walking and hula hooping with Keith Leaf Entertainment and a scavenger hunt hosted by Southampton Kiwanis Club.

New this year is a special kids' zone on Main Street, which will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Cameron Street to Hampton Road. The zone will feature music by DJ Double S and activities for kids including performances by Jester Jim, bubble shows, dance, pumpkin decorating, a street chalk art contest, face painting and basketball, soccer and ice hockey interactive sports expos.

In addition, an art zone will unfold on the west lawn at 25 Jobs Lane, on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center, with photography, jewelry, art and craft vendors from Southampton Artists Association as well as food and beverage vendors and live music by The Unsung Heroes, Points East Band, Julia King, Local Motion and Eastbound Freight.
