#99 - Have a Bailout Burger at Barrister’s
For $5, it just may be the best deal in town.
When the housing bubble burst and the American economy was on the brink, stepped in with a bailout.
Wednesdays, for lunch and dinner, the Southampton Village restaurant offers $5 “Bailout Burgers,” served any way you like, with sides of fries and cole slaw.
The deal typically ends a couple weeks before Memorial Day, but resumes again in the fall.

Burger lovers can choose as many toppings as they like, and the price stays the same. Choices include, American, Swiss, Monterey Jack, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, sautéed onions, sour cream and guacamole. They can also dine on the restaurant’s signature burger, the “Barrister Burger,” topped with Bermuda onion, guacamole and a dollop of sour cream.
Barrister’s offers both beef and turkey burgers, but no veggie burgers.

The deal applies to patrons at tables and at the bar.
While it may be customary to tip 18 percent on the check, since the burgers are being marked down from as much as $14, patrons should consider tipping on the normal price.
