Man Caught Trespassing In Hamptons Home — For 2nd Time: Police

He was arrested Sunday afternoon, police say.

WATER MILL, NY — A man was arrested after entering into, and remaining inside of, a Water Mill residence without permission — for the second time, police said.

According to the Southampton Town police, on Sunday at about 1 p.m., a call came in about a "suspicious person" in the in the driveway of a private residence in the area of Cobb Road.

Responding patrol officers identified the individual as Hassan Cook, 41, an undomiciled man from the local area, police said.

An investigation determined that he had entered and remained inside the residence without permission from the homeowner, police said. Officers also discovered that Cook also had an active arrest warrant stemming from a similar incident at the same residence, police said.

Cook was taken into custody and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was held pending morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
