SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton man was arrested Wednesday night and charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Southampton, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at about 11:38 p.m., Jose Cabrera-Cabrera was observed operating a motor vehicle northbound on Sandy Hollow Road in the area of County Road 39.
Cabrera-Cabrera was seen moving from the travel lane on Sandy Hollow Road unsafely was subsequently stopped for the traffic infraction, police said.
While interviewing Cabrera-Cabrera, it was observed that he was operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said.
Cabrera-Cabrera was also operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driving privilege in New York State, police said.
He was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Department headquarters for arrest processing and was held to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment, police said.
Cabrera-Cabrera was charged with DWI, a felony, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and several violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, police said.
