BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — After two years of anticipation, the new Bridgehampton Target store is open for business.
The new store, located at 2102 Montauk Highway in the Bridgehampton Commons shopping center, had a ribbon-cutting Tuesday to kick off its new chapter.
The store officially opened to the public at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. A public grand opening celebration will take place on Sunday, October 11.
The Target, now open to the public, is about 90,000 sq. ft. and is expected to employ 140 team members, representatives said.
The new store is the 109th store to open in New York, Target representative said.
Also, the new Target in Bridgehampton was designed with an exterior and interior to "align with the town's design guidelines, and to reflect its coastal vibes," Target reps said.
The store "provides convenient access to everyday essentials, groceries, and same-day fulfillment services," representatives said.
Target will be open Sunday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; the Bridgehampton store features a Starbucks Café and CVS Pharmacy, opening in November, representatives said.
Kmart, a longtime retail chain known for its "blue light specials" and carrying everything under the sun at a discount, closed its last full-sized location in the United States in 2024.
The lone surviving Kmart, located in Bridgehampton Commons, had been a staple on the Hamptons canvas.
