Grammy-nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa returns to Hamptons JazzFest 2026 with A Tribute to Cal Tjader, celebrating the legacy of influential vibraphonist and bandleader Cal Tjader.
Widely respected across the jazz and Latin jazz worlds, Figueroa has performed and recorded with artists incluTjaderiles Davis, Sonny Rollins, David Bowie, and Mariah Carey. In this special program, he revisits the Afro-Cuban and Latin jazz repertoire associated with Tjader, whose work helped bring Latin rhythms into the mainstream jazz conversation during the 1950s and 1960s.
