Police ID Man Left Dead On Road As Driver Leaves Scene: Cops
The driver left the man dead on the road and fled the scene, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Police have identified the man making a delivery to a local business who was killed after he was struck by a driver that left the scene on County Road 39, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Joseph Lynn McAlla, 63, from Clifford, PA, was making a delivery to Southampton Masonry on Thursday at 2:30 a.m. when he apparently exited his vehicle and was struck and killed by the driver who left the scene, police said.
Southampton Town Police responded to reports of the man lying dead in the roadway on County Road 39.

County Road 39 was closed in both directions from Tuckahoe Road to Shrubland Road for hours; the eastbound lane is now open, police said.
Southampton Town Police's detective division responded and initiated the investigation into the cause of the accident, police said. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the accident and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Southampton Town Police Department's detective division at 631-702-2230.
