Crash Sends Mack 10-Wheeler Truck Careening Into Home: Police

A woman was home at the time of the crash, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A crash sent a Mack truck careening into a Riverside home Monday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the crash took place at 10:42 a.m. when Audrey Marrus, 75, of East Rockaway, who was driving a 2022 BMW and heading north on Riverleigh Avenue, stopped to make a right turn onto Pine Street.

That caused Matthew Virga, 26, of Farmingdale, who was driving a 10-wheeler Mack truck, to "make a quick decision" to go to the right of the BMW; he struck the BMW and then, crashed into the home, damaging the residence, police said.
