Try "The East Hampton" with one of the Pear's many soups.

in Southampton Village, on the corner of Main Street and Nugent Street, is just one of four Golden Pears on the South Fork. It's open every day from 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. for breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee. The Pear's best lunch deal is the half sandwich and soup. There is always a variety of soups to choose from, including many seasonal selections. Be sure to grab a "coffee card" and get it punched each time you order a cup to get your 11th cup free. Same goes for the "soup card."

How's It Taste?: This sandwich is a brilliant combination of the Middle Eastern pita and Indian curry, though the Pear's curried chicken stands alone as an excellent chicken salad. The lettuce is fresh and crisp.

Sides: The soups always on at The Golden Pear with a multitude of choices that change daily. Just a few examples are lentil vegetable, county chicken vegetable, pasta fagioli, tomato vegetable, beer barley, butternut squash and apple, Italian wedding, corn chowder and chicken tortellini. Cream of butternut squash is sure to please. Speciality coffee is $1.75 for a small, $2 medium and $2.25 large.
