'Double Save': Lost Dog, Plus Another Pup, Rescued At Same Time On LI
One little lost dog stood guard over the other, who was emaciated and covered in fleas — until both were found safe, rescuers say.

FLANDERS, NY — It was a double happy ending for two pups found safe by a man who dedicates his life to saving lost pets.
According to a Facebook post by Long Island Lost Dog Search & Rescue, a lost dog, Bingo, reported missing from Flanders was found safe after two days.
Teddy Henn, who works tirelessly to find missing pets, was searching for Bingo, whose last pin on his Apple tag was under a dock. Although Henn and Bingo's family searched, at first, there was "nothing," the post said.

"Bingo's owners went one way, Teddy went another," the post said. "Teddy told them to look for paw prints. They reported back to Teddy they saw prints but no dog, and the search continued. Then, Teddy decided he needed to investigate and go deeper into the marsh."
Soon after, Henn found not one, but two sets of prints. "As he got deeper in, he saw Bingo laying down; he immediately called the owners and asked them to come back. It took them quite some time to find and get to Teddy. But once they did, Teddy had the son get low, talk softly, and inch closer. That’s when Bingo recognized his owner and jumped on him, while Teddy stood back, not to scare Bingo away."

Bingo's owners shouted out to Henn to come quickly, there was another dog there, too — a Yorkie who was emaciated and covered in fleas, the post said.
"Teddy approached cautiously, so that he wouldn't scare the stray dog, but the Yorkie could not even stand up. Teddy scooped him up and rushed him to the shelter for vet care," the post said. "We believe Bingo stayed and protected that Yorkie for the past two days. He was laying right with him, keeping him or her warm. Great job, Bingo and Teddy Henn."
The search for the Yorkie's owners continues.
