Driver Of Dump Truck Hits Utility Pole In Noyac Rollover Crash: Police

A load of mulch was spilled into the roadway, police say.

NOYAC, NY — The driver of a dump truck hit a utility police before his vehicle rolled over in Noyac Tuesday morning, police said.

Southampton Town police responded to Noyac Road near Oak Grove Road at about 8:39 a.m. and found a 1988 Mitsubishi dump truck that had flipped onto the passenger side, spilling a load of mulch into the roadway, officials said.

Driver Helder Mejia Morales, 32, of Flanders, was not injured in the crash, police said. No charges were filed, officials added.

The North Sea Fire Department and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance responded; Southampton Town police and the New York State motor carrier unit are investigating, police said.
