Driver, Passengers Caught Doing Drugs At LI Gas Station Pump: Police
The driver and 2 passengers were arrested and charged after being found doing drugs at the gas station on Monday afternoon, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A driver and two passengers were arrested after they were found doing drugs at the pump of a Southampton gas station, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on Monday at 2:36 p.m. when a call came in about a vehicle in the parking lot of a gas station on County Road 39; people inside were "possibly doing drugs," authorities said.
Upon arrival, patrol officers found a 2014 Jeep Cherokee at the gas pumps being operated by a woman, 58, of Westhampton Beach, police said. Further investigation found she was operating that vehicle while impaired by drugs, police said.

The driver was arrested at the scene and then transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing; she was charged with misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.
She was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.

Additionally, two passengers in the vehicle, a 38-year-old woman from Westhampton Beach and man, 59, also of Westhampton Beach, were also found to be in possession of a quantity of narcotics, police said.
They were arrested at the scene and also transported to Southampton Town police headquarters where they were each charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.
They were processed and released on field appearance tickets for a future court date at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
