Drunken Man 'Verbally And Physically Abusive' To Cop: Police

He was charged with resisting arrest, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An intoxicated East Hampton man was cuffed after was "verbally and physically abusive" to a police officer, authorities said.

According to Southampton Village Police, the incident took place on Aug. 26 at 3:22 a.m. when officers were called to 230 Elm regarding an intoxicated man, Xavier M. Pucha-Qituizaca, 33.

Upon arrival, an officer had a brief conversation with Pucha-Qituizaca, who then became abusive and was placed under arrest, police said.

Pucha-Qituizaca was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, disorderly conduct, a violation, and having an open alcohol beverage, a violation, police said.
