'Erratic' Driver Charged With DWI On East End: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — An Aquebogue man was arrested in Flanders and charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, at 8:29 p.m., a report came in about an "erratic driver," Jose Golpeataxca, 33, who was seen failing to maintain his lane on State Route 27 in Hampton Bays. He was located on Flanders Road in Flanders, and seen crossing over the designated travel lane, police said.

Golpeataxca was arrested, charged with misdemeanor DWI and numerous traffic infractions, brought to Southampton Town police headquarters, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
