Ex-Hamptons Butler Used Former Employer's Info To Buy $6K In Booze: PD
He had been fired two months earlier, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An former butler who worked in Southampton was arrested after he used his ex-employer's information to buy $6,000 worth of liquor, police said.
James Mounsey, 34, of Ireland, was arrested on December 15 at a Boston airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents when he was trying to flee the United States and head back to Ireland, Southampton Town Police said.
Mounsey bought the liquor on June 22 at a local liquor store after he had been fired by his employer two months earlier, police said.

During the investigation, Southampton Town Police detectives tried to have Mounsey turn himself in, but he refused to cooperate, authorities said.
Detectives filed a warrant of arrest after Mounsey fled the area, police said.

A Suffolk County Police fugitive squad went to get Mounsey and brought him back to New York, where he was arraigned on charges of third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree identify theft, and fourth-degree possession of stolen property, police said.
