FBI agent to crack down on code enforcement.

Wow! Crack down on Code Enforcement.

The Town (once again) is hiring another "General" when they "do not have enough boots on the ground".

Code enforcement has about 5 or 6 officers, who attempt to cover approximantaly 9 to 10 shifts a week. People need days off. People get sick or injured on the job. Often times there is only 1 officer on duty for the entire Township on weekend nights. They might be required to answer a niose complaint in Sagaponak and then are called to Eastport for another, while having yet again, another complaint for an over capacity night club in Hampton Bays. How much can one individual do while working 16 hours straight.

They do not have peacekeeping status and are therefore unarmed when answering such complaints. Would anyone like to enter one of these situtions armed with just a radio?

Think about it! We are putting these people in harm's way to satisfy the nepotism of our politicians who ran on this, but will not support the "boots" They just want to hire another crooney who essentially will sit in an office. They could afford 2 more officers with the salary this man will be making. It's time to look at Southampton Town's record of over management and not responding to the needs of their working staff!
