Firefighters Tackle Dumpster Blaze In Water Mill: FD

The fire was extinguished quickly, officials say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The Southampton Fire Department rushed to the scene of a dumpster fire in Water Mill Wednesday, officials said.

According to Chris Brenner, public information officer for the SHFD, the call came in at 2:09 p.m. for the fire at a residence on Halsey Lane. The dumpster was in close proximity to the home, officials said.

Crews were dispatched, arrived on scene quickly, and were able to extinguish the fire, officials said.

The Southampton Town Fire Marshal’s Office also responded; Southampton Town Fire Department Chief Alfred Callahan was the chief in charge at the scene, officials said.
