Flanders Homeowner Bitten By Intruder: Police
The owner of the home confronted the intruder and held him until police arrived, authorities say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Flanders man was arrested after he entered someone's home and then bit them early Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 4:49 a.m. at a Flanders home on Tyler Street; the homeowner called 911 to report an intruder.
Christopher Turner , 55, entered the house and was rifling through a pocketbook when he was confronted by the homeowner, who was able to call 911, police said. He was chased out of the house and detained for police by another occupant of the home, police said.

Turner also bit the homeowner, causing an injury, police said.
Turner was arrested, charged with second-degree burglary, and transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said. He was remanded to the Suffolk County correctional facility, police said.

The Southampton Town Police Department sent a message, reminding the community that it is essential to lock doors.
